What Information Is Needed for a Bag Quotation?
To get an accurate wholesale bag quotation, send: a product reference (SKU, photo, sample or drawing), order quantity, target material, size, colors, logo requirement, packaging requirement and destination. The more of these you provide up front, the faster and more accurate the quote — a photo alone is usually enough for a rough range, but not for a final price.
The Quotation Checklist
Use this checklist when you contact any bag factory — it is what a production team actually needs to price your order:
- Product reference — a catalog SKU, clear photos (front/back/inside), a physical sample, or a drawing with dimensions.
- Quantity — total pieces, and per color/size if the order is split. Quantity changes the unit price more than almost anything else.
- Material — target fabric (e.g. polyester, oxford, nylon, canvas, PU leather) or “match the reference sample”. If unsure, state your target market and price range instead.
- Size — finished dimensions, or “same as reference”.
- Colors — how many colorways and which ones.
- Logo — artwork file, method preference (printing or embroidery), position and approximate size.
- Packaging — polybag only, color box, or custom retail packaging.
- Destination & shipping — country/port and preferred method (sea, air, courier), plus trade term (e.g. FOB, CIF, DDP) if you have one.
- Deadline — if the order has a season or event date.
Why a Photo Alone Is Not Enough
A photo shows the style, but the price is built from things a photo cannot show: fabric grade, lining, zipper and hardware quality, internal structure, logo process, packaging and order quantity. Two bags that look identical in a photo can differ substantially in cost once those are specified. That is why a factory will answer a photo-only inquiry with questions — or with a wide price range instead of a firm number.
What You Get Back
With complete information, a factory can return: unit price at your quantity, sample cost and time, production notes (material or construction suggestions), and packing data (carton size, quantity per carton, CBM and gross weight) that your forwarder needs for the shipping quote — see how international bag shipping is quoted.
Quotation Questions, Answered
Can I get a price with just a photo?
You will usually get a rough range, not a final price. Quantity, material, logo and packaging change the cost too much for a firm quote from a photo alone.
Does the quote include shipping?
Product quotes are normally EXW or FOB. International shipping is quoted separately from carton volume, weight, destination and method, and can be combined into CIF/DDP terms on request.
How does quantity affect the unit price?
Setup work (patterns, sampling, logo plates or embroidery programming, material ordering) spreads across the whole order, so larger quantities lower the unit price. Quote 2–3 quantity tiers if you are undecided.
